In the early part of the Engineering apprenticeship application the listed requirements are GCSEs only, but when I try to apply I am told I need a level 3 NVQ in Engineering. Is this the case?

I achieved grades of 8s and 9s in all of my GCSEs and applied under the impression this would be all required to apply. NVQs have not been mentioned until this point in the application.

    Hello there,

    Thank you for your enquiry.

I can confirm that the NVQ mentioned in the application form is not a requirement. The only educational requirement is that you have achieved, or are predicted to achieve, Functional Skills Level 2 or GCSE grade 4 and above in Maths and English.

Therefore, it sounds as though you meet this requirement and so can answer 'yes' to the statement on the application form.

Thank you for raising this with us, I will make arrangements to get this updated on the application form so that it reads correctly for any future applicants.
