Not at all! Many roles at GWR don’t require prior railway experience. While specialised positions like train driving may prefer specific skills, we provide training for entry-level and customer service roles. Experience in areas like customer service, teamwork, and safety is often more important.

Yes, a clean licence is usually a must for train driver roles as it reflects your reliability and commitment to safety.

Yes, certain roles, like train drivers, require you to be at least 21 (safety regulations and all that). But there’s no upper age limit as long as you meet the health and safety standards.

Yes, this is part of the process for all roles. It includes a general health check, vision and hearing tests, and drug and alcohol screening.

Of course! You can reapply for GWR roles after six months. Take the time to work on any feedback we’ve given, and come back stronger.
