As a Customer Service Trainer I have a very rewarding position. I have the pleasure of delivering training everyday to a range of different colleagues across differing grades within the business. Some colleagues are customer facing and some work within purely office based roles, however, the impact I can have on their learning is just as worthwhile and it is the progress that I see first hand at the end of the training session that I find the most rewarding aspect.
Most colleagues are new to the railway industry and have limited or no experience before starting their journey with us. During training sessions I can see how colleagues flourish and evolve in their thinking, learning and development around a range of different subjects. Comparing this to how they were when first entering the room is a wonderful feeling knowing that you've imparted knowledge, skills and advise that will stand them in good stead for their future careers with Great Western Railway.
