About the team?
Working within People Services our HR Operations team are the central operational hub for all HR activity.  We provide support to colleagues throughout their journey with GWR and are an essential support service across our organisation at all levels. We work together to ensure we deliver for our people, share knowledge, and help make GWR a great place to be.

About the job?
You'll provide an administration service to support all HR Operations activities ensuring relevant processes are adhered to consistently and in line with SLA's. A big part of the role will be responding to colleague's queries often liaising with various functions and departments across the organisation to ensure resolution. This role offers variety and the opportunity to be involved in a multitude of work, process improvements and projects to deliver enhancement to the service offering for our people.

Your main responsibilities will be
Some of the areas you'll be involved in are:

  • HR Inbox management, providing support across a wide range of topics 
  • Colleague benefits promotion, including sign-up, communications, and general enquiries. 
  • Administration of processes for formal recognition schemes
  • Note taking at meetings, summarising key topics discussed and producing minutes for attendees
  • Supporting with ad-hoc administration requests

You'll need to be:  

  • A proactive problem-solver who can build successful working relationships within HR and across the organisation
  • An experienced administrator with strong attention to detail
  • Able to work under pressure whilst maintaining efficiency and accuracy
  • Highly organised and able to work to tight deadlines

As a minimum you will need to have:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Active and positive listening skills
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft packages
  • Experience of providing HR Administration support ideally within a shared service environment
  • Experience in note-taking is not essential but would be beneficial.

About the location?

The office is based at Milford House, Swindon however hybrid working is possible.
This position will also require travel to support meetings that may be held across the GWR network.
