What is the job?
This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to help shape, mould and redefine the IT Project Management function.
To be a key member of the IT project delivery function within the wider IT team, responsible for contributing to, and the delivery of, various work packages, workstreams and small/medium projects initiated from within IT and/or wider business projects and initiatives.
You'll ensure the IT project delivery function delivers the right outcomes for colleagues and customers, doing so safely, effectively and efficiently and following the GWR project management methodology and adoption of best practice. You'll help support and mature the IT project delivery function's reputation as a team that delivers on-time and on-budget.
What will I be doing?
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Planning - Of project, work streams and work packages Definition and Requirements gathering (including workshop facilitation)
- Definition of objectives & outcomes – work with stakeholders to agree objectives and outcomes
- Stakeholder and communication plans – application of proportionate and appropriate communications to support the delivery of project / work streams / work packages
- Scope, Timescales, schedule, key milestones (Identify and Agreed)
- Constraints - Safety Management. Delivering change in a way that adheres to the safety environment of the railways
- Budget – support the generation of business cases for continued justification and delivery focus where required
- RAIDD; Risk, assumptions, issues and dependences, decisions
