About The Role: PSV/HGV Mechanical Fitter

Do you want to be part of our energetic team of mechanical engineers and maintenance staff repairing our fleet of buses? If yes, then this Skilled Engineer position could just be the job for you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosing and repairing vehicle faults, servicing, and replacing parts as needed

  • Identifying issues accurately and recommending the correct method of repair and parts required

  • Performing routine inspections and servicing using handheld data capture devices (where applicable)

  • Attending roadside breakdowns and supporting vehicle recoveries

  • Road-testing vehicles to confirm issues or check work after repairs

Details:

  • Location: Chelmsford, CM1 3AR

  • Hours: 39 hours per week, 4 days out of 7 (including weekends) on a rotating pattern of early shifts 05:00-15:00 and late shifts 14:30-00:30

  • Pay Rates: £24.03 per hour and £25.07 as the weekend premium

About You:

  • Do you have a minimum of a Level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent qualification in vehicle mechanics?

  • Do you have a valid UK driver's licence?

  • A PCV licence is desirable, ability to obtain PCV licence is essential (we will help you obtain this)

  • Experience of working with buses & coaches would be an advantage, but any vehicle mechanic experience will be considered (HGV)

  • Do you have Right to Work in the UK?
