About the job

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-starting candidate to provide professional support to the First London Cableway team on Safety, Quality and Environmental matters affecting the business. This role will be a fixed term contract for a period of 12 months.

 

Key focus areas for the role include:

  • Leading on implementation and application of First London Cableway's Safety, Quality & Environmental management arrangements.
  • Ensuring compliance with all Legislative Requirements and monitoring system effectiveness
  • Promoting a culture where all employees instinctively work safely
  • Developing strategies and building relationships with third-party suppliers that promote continual improvement, and delivery of our Safety, Quality and Environmental targets

 

Your main responsibilities will be:

 

  • Ensuring that the risks associated with work activities carried out by First London Cableway staff and Third Parties, are well understood, documented, and adequately controlled.
  • Developing the First London Cableway Safety Improvement Plan and supporting the Senior Leadership Team and peers in all aspects of its delivery.
  • Re-branding existing Safety Management Procedures and Risk Assessments, making recommendations for improvement where appropriate, and maintaining an awareness of new Legislation in order that our systems remain current and effective.
  • Monitoring work activities, ensuring adherence to procedures and application of safe methods of work, and promoting good practice where appropriate
  • Carrying out compliance audits of First London Cableway's Safety, Quality & Environmental Management Systems, establishing the degree of compliance and determining the level of risk where non-compliances are identified.
  • Working with the Cableway Team to ensure that Statutory Health and Safety Requirements are in place e.g. Fire, First Aid.
  • Assisting First Group and Transport for London, and any other relevant bodies in Cableway safety investigations.
  • Representing the First London Cableway at safety meetings where necessary.

 

As a minimum, you will need to have:

 

  • A recognised Health and Safety Qualification (for example IOSH Managing Safely).
  • A recognised Auditor Qualification is considered beneficial (but not essential)
  • Experience of implementing Safety, Quality and Environmental management systems is essential.
  • A minimum 4-years relevant experience, preferably with at least 2-years in the transport industry.
  • Effective communication and motivational skills, able to engage with staff at all levels.
  • An energetic and enthusiastic approach to problem solving and team leadership across a broad range of topics.
  • Demonstrable experience in driving safety culture change and the ability to influence.

 

About the location

 London Cable Car, North Greenwich. Occasional travel to other UK locations as appropriate.
