Thanks Paul that's good news. I would be very happy with any of the Southwest companies- Avanti, GWR, cross-country and Trasport for Wales.

I'm going to step in and answer this question if I may 🙂
Of those companies you've mentioned, only Avanti and GWR are part of Firstgroup, and so are the only ones we can provide any guidance for - although I'm sure you could find information for the others with a quick Google search.
All train driver opportunities can be found here for Avanti West Coast and here for GWR. Avanti don't operate any further south than London Euston however, so I suspect GWR will be the primary company you'll need to look at. Whilst we don't currently have any trainee opportunities with either of these TOCs (Train Operating Companies), when we do they will be advertised on the respective job search pages above. Each of those pages also has the facility to register for job alerts, so I'd suggest setting those up to ensure you don't miss any future opportunities.
