Darren K. asked a question to Paul S.
I have set up a job alert on here and I did receive a notification yesterday however the link doesn’t work, It was for a full time trainee train driver in Salisbury, Wilts. I’m wondering if you could help point me in the right direction as do not want to miss the opportunity. All the best Darren
Morning Darren,
Thank you for your question to the FirstGroup Insider Page. I have checked with the recruitment team and unfortunately, I can see that the vacancy you've referred to has already closed due to the number of applications received, which will be why the link is no longer working.
Trainee Driver roles are extremely popular and so it can often be a case that the team have to close the adverts in order to manage the sheer volume of applications. Typically, they would then reopen the advert again once they've processed the applications already received.
As such, I would suggest that when you next receive a notification or see a vacancy advertised, you submit your application immediately to avoid disappointment.
Best Wishes,
Paul
Can 46 years old male can apply for train trainee role / do you have any age limit for train trainee role please.
Good morning, Edith, thank you for your question.
You must be at least 21 years of age to apply for a trainee train driver role, however there is no upper age limit.
Any applicant would need to complete an online application form and successfully pass the various testing stages, should they be shortlisted.
Please let me know if you have any further questions and I will be happy to answer them for you.
