Hi Paul, is there ant way I could send you my CV to register my interest in any upcoming trainee Train driver vacancies?

Stuart M. asked a question to Paul S.

I am currently a pcv driver with First Bus Glasgow, but I have an HNC in Electronics and an SVQ level 2 in marine electrical engineering. I therefore feel that I would be better suited to this role. Many thanks. Stuart McGinley.

Hi Stuart, Firstly thank you for visiting the FirstGroup careers page. We can't accept CVs to register your interest, however you can register your email address and we will send you a notification when a vacancy goes live on our website. You will then be able to re-visit the website to apply for the role.
I've worked with lots of bus drivers who have moved over to the train driver position, I would recommend having a look at the skills you currently have as a bus driver and seeing how you could transfer them over into the role of a trainee train driver.
If you have any further questions, please send them my way and I will be more than happy to answer them for you.

Hi Paul, I have seen today's response to Stuart's question from Tracey S (Recruitment and Engagement Manager). Please can you give some (any) indication on when the next round of driver vacancies are likely to be posted online? Thanks and kind regards, Keith

Good Morning Keith, Hope you're well. We are currently working our way through the establishment figures. I would strongly recommend registering for Job Alerts for Driver Vacancies. As soon as they are posted you will be notified via email of this. Due to the high number of applicants that apply for these roles I would then suggest applying for it as soon as you can.
Which of our depots is closet for you?
If you have any questions, Please don't hesitate to send another message. Happy to help.

Hi Paul, I have applied for the Post of trainee train driver with FGW (Bristol) i’ve submitted my application and first assessments approx 3 weeks ago now.
I was wondering if you know how long the process may take to hear the next step? II’m 52 so not sure if a little old! I would love to follow in my families footsteps. All the males, either work or have worked on the railways from train drivers to train maintenance technicians, fitters, mates, and train cleaning operatives.
    Many thanks, Louise
