Alex S. Application Support – Hr And Recruitment

    Hi there,

That's great to hear you're interested in joining the railway, and in particular looking to become a Train Manager with GWR. All of our current vacancies can be found on the job search page of our careers site, so it would just be a case of applying when you see a role advertised that is of interest to you. There is also the facility to register for job alerts, which will ensure you are notified whenever a vacancy is advertised that matches your set criteria.

Depending on where in Wales you reside, Cardiff and Swansea are likely to be the locations where a Train Manager role would be advertised. Should you live in South Wales, then Bristol may also be an option for you - please note it is a requirement that you live within 60 minutes travelling time of any respective location.

GWR also recruit for Conductors, which hold similarities to the Train Manager role, so you may wish to consider that as an option too, should you see a Conductor role advertised.

    I hope that helps.
