If I am still in University but apply for a part time role, would I be able to adjust my working pattern around my studies? E.g. take on more weekend shifts?

    Hello there,

Thank you for your enquiry and apologies for the delayed response.

If you're referring to an customer facing role i.e. working within one of our stations or onboard a train, then due to the nature of these roles, all of the work patterns are designed around the operational requirements of the business and normally assigned to employees on a rotational basis.

If it is predominantly weekend work that you're after, then you would be best to apply for one of our part-time roles that specifically state the shifts as being weekends. Our most common role that offers this is that of a Customer Host with GWR, but unfortunately we don't have any current opportunities being advertised. I would suggest visiting our careers site and registering for job alerts, ensuring that you set part-time as one of the criteria.
