About the role:

Shape the future of Train Crew planning through data and insight.

We're looking for a proactive and analytical Train Crew Analyst to join our Train Crew team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting operational performance by turning data into meaningful insight that influences business decisions.

You'll work closely with Train Crew, Rostering, Resource Planning and other operational teams to provide analysis that improves efficiency, supports workforce planning and helps shape the future of the function. If you enjoy solving problems, identifying opportunities for improvement and making a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

  • Produce insightful reporting and analysis to support operational and strategic decisions.
  • Develop dashboards and bespoke reports for key stakeholders.
  • Monitor Train Crew costs, including taxis, overtime and training expenditure.
  • Manage Train Crew rest day reporting and resolve related queries.
  • Partner with Rostering, Resource Planning and Operations to support workforce planning.
  • Improve reporting processes through automation, accuracy and continuous improvement.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and use data to influence business decisions.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with data, solving problems and driving improvements. You'll be confident working with stakeholders, able to interpret complex information and passionate about using insight to make a difference.

You'll have:

  • Proven experience analysing and interpreting data to support business decisions.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with large datasets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience building positive relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A proactive approach and a continuous improvement mindset.

Experience of Power BI, SQL, workforce planning or the rail industry would be advantageous but isn't essential.

About the location: 

The team is based in Swindon in the Network Rail Integrated Control Centre. This is an office-based job. There are excellent public transport links.
